How Can severe Leg Cramps Be Treated?

I am experiencing very painful leg cramps at night, usually early morning, around 12:30 am on until 6 am. I am awaken at night with this pain. Not sure what it is. I am diagnosed as diabetic which is controlled. When these cramps occur (not every night) I usually have to get a walker and walk out the cramps. This doesn t occur in daytime. What could it be and how to prevent this?

Hi,

This occurs because of diabetes you are suffering from.

Diabetic patients can develop fatigue, cramps and pain in different parts of the body.

You need to see an endocrinologist and get yourself checked for blood glucose sugar levels and other functions of nerves.

You may require vitamin supplementation and fluid adjustment and change in dosage of drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
